The cozy rooms feature comfortable beds with nice linens, making it easy to sink in after a long day. It’s also conveniently located close to nature walks at the RSPB lakes, perfect for those who enjoy a bit of tranquility amidst the exploration.
There’s a need for improvement in some areas, particularly with the cleanliness of the refrigerator, which contained open and used jars—definitely not something you'd want to see. The decor felt mismatched and somewhat unkempt, while the bathroom towels were old and could use an upgrade. the limited parking means you might be jockeying for a spot if more guests come in at once. On one morning, I found breakfast items to be inconsistent, which could start your day off on the wrong foot. Lastly, the lack of nearby amenities means you're driving several miles for food or shopping.

The beds in the family room offered incredible comfort, ensuring a good night's rest. It was a pleasant surprise to find bottled water waiting for us in the room, a nice touch.
Cleanliness left something to be desired, particularly under the bed where dust accumulated. The kitchen setup felt lacking, as we had to improvise with Costa coffee containers for our evening drinks, and initially, the only mugs we could get were chipped. Navigating the area was also a hassle. it's a 20-minute taxi ride to the nearest train station, with the bus stop a bit of a trek from the location.

The breakfast was amazing, especially the stewed berries, and the cottage was super comfortable with all the right amenities. Alex was really helpful, but parking might be a bit tight during peak times.

i almost felt like leaving a positive note, but the cleanliness was absolutely terrible—under the bed looked like it hadn’t seen a vacuum in years. to top it off, i found myself sipping wine from Costa containers instead of proper glasses. one would think a guest deserves at least mugs without chips!

Perfect home base for exploring
We stayed for 2 nights and loved how easy it was to get into Cambridge—just a quick drive. Our family room was super comfy, especially the day bed. The breakfast was spot on with the full English giving us the fuel we needed for a busy day. A little more parking space would’ve been nice, tho.

Had a great time with friends! The breakfast was freshly made to order, catering to all diets. We enjoyed some cycling around the area and relaxed in the cozy lounge with log burner. The owner was super friendly and made us feel right at home. Would definitely choose this spot for future trips!
I would have liked more variety in snacks provided in the kitchen area. It felt a bit limited during late hours.

cozy stay with minor inconveniences
The cozy cottage had a lovely private drive that made unloading luggage easy. Breakfast, served hot by a friendly host, was always delivered promptly at 8 AM. I appreciated the fully equipped little kitchen that included a coffee machine and plenty of snacks. The garden view from the cottage showcased beautiful greenery, adding to the relaxing atmosphere.
The lack of nearby shopping options was inconvenient.
